Growing up in a talented musical family was the jackpot for a gifted born-singer such as Amy Jenkins. Her exposure to music through her musician father and singing harmonies since childhood led in on her a path of natural ability and musical interest. Placing in her first vocal competition at age of 11, following years in Concert Choir gaining skills in singing German and Latin, Amy had her Television Debut at age 20. Her background has led Amy into being a sought-after studio vocalist, where her speed at hearing and arranging harmonies is appreciated by all. In live venues, her personality and love for performing shines through.
Amy’s strong soulful vocals show off her great range as she performs a wide variety of material drawing on her biggest influences such as Chaka Khan, Bonnie Raítt, Amy Winehouse, and Annie Lennox just to name of a few. Her passion for Funk and R&B landed her fronting two Portland based Bands, Urban Funk Outfit and The Tony Sinclair Band as well as guest performances with My Happy Pill and The Dan Hess Band. Currently, Amy can also be found playing in Juniper Rose, an unplugged duo where she shows off another musical talent holding the beat down playing Cajon and Percussions for a more grounded earthy mix. She is keen to point out that everything she listens to directs her musical development in some way and nothing could be more truer than the inspiration she receives from working with such talented and seasoned musicians in the band 5 Grand.
